Factory body mount locations. 12 bolts total. The step width is kind of small and is mostly used by my 7 year old daughter. My wife thinks they sit to tight to the body, but finds the boost up to still be helpful. I like the rock sliders look, but not sure if I would get these again if I based my decision purely upon the functionality.

Picked up some N-Fab 3 inch nerf bars last week. Not the best picture, but thought it is better than nothing.IMG_6937[1].jpg

5100's all around, OME 887 with 1/4" spacer, icon 3 leaf aal. 255/75/17 BFG KM's on 4runner pro's. Rigid led pods. Debadged and tinted.
I have the OEM 2nd gen plastic boards. Not the best step, due to them being so high. However, my tires can't throw rocks at my doors, they also help battle the local door dingers.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
Here is a thought/suggestion. If you like the look of slot/step style -and I repeat "you like" that style, you will find they (to me) seem safer to use, with regards to slipping possibility. I have found this type makes one more conscious as to the placement of your foot. With the flat style one just seems to kinda throw your foot on the surface without thinking, as opposed to placing your foot firmly in the slot. I had the flat style with the vinyl/plastic panels on my old F150. I slipped a few times when "quickly " getting in/out of the truck. With my N-fabs -- I more consciously place my foot where it is secure.
My 2cents worth of advice- I have the 3 step N-fabs and Like them a lot. Try them out on Friends/dealer lot trucks. If you have a great dealer like mine (Riley Toyota) they are more than happy if you explain to them what you are wanting to check out
    Good luck in your search!
If you are a serious off-roader then the flat sliders win out here!
