    Hello Everyone,

I am new to Tacoma World. I just picked up a 97 Tacoma Regular Cab V6. This is my fourth Tacoma. I've had an 02 Regular Cab, 06 Access Cab, and an 11 Regular Cab. I'm from Western PA so it was tough finding a 97 with no rust, but was able to find one from Virginia for $1,200 with no rust at all. It just needs a transmission.

    - Any advice on to get one from a junk yard, or have it rebuilt. I can get one out of a junk yard with under 200k for $500.00 or get it rebuilt around $1000 to $1200.

    - Also, someone changed the seats out for Tan ones, and it has blue interior. Any recommendations on seat replacements? It has bucket seats in it now.

    Thank you!

    Mike

I would get it rebuild, or you can purchase a refurbished one. How many miles on the 97. And where is the pictures of the truck. As far as the interior i would go to a salvage yard or just get seat cover. My 93 has a split bench that im debating upon puting seat out if a 2012 fj if i do i may sell those.

    And welcome to tw.

Thanks for the replies. I will check out the 1st section. I found some Celica seats cheap that are black and blue to match so probably just going to fab up the brackets to get them to fit. The truck has 244k. It came with 50 pages worth of service records since the beginning which was nice. Still running strong.

Welcome to the forums! I'd get it rebuilt because I'd trust that a little more than a junkyard pull but thats just my $.02. As for seat options, have you considered just throwing some decent seat covers on them?
