Anyways OP, why change it? I’d recommend you remove it and hit it with some “Spray on” bedliner. Someone else’s was rusting out and he took it in for warranty and the dealers fix was to paint it with Bedliner. I forgot who the member was or else I’d post their pics.

Yup, exactly. I think my pics are confusing since they're sideways.

Didn't even think about that...that's definitely a good call. Thank you.

The can is no more than $10. If you have some sand paper, it won’t be a bad idea to scuff it up a bit before you paint.

6BCB8746-C20B-44BC-9113-44C870C871E7.jpg Here is the part that has paint scratched off in your picture. It’s (#2) on this diagram, but I’m not finding it for sale. I’d think someone has it for sale.
It’s not the side rail for accessory attachment.
You could use touch up paint, spray it or perhaps find a used one like has been suggested.

I removed the one on my truck and ran silicone along its underneath and back side and plastic end caps in preparation for a canopy install. The canopy seller suggested it to seal water from leaking in from underneath this top of bed piece. He said that he had seen a little water come thru from under this part on Tacomas.

Or derp it! Put enough coats on it and it'll handle all the crap you throw at it and it won't be textured. Unless textured is what you prefer.

    Options bro, options.

from what I see, the previous owner took off the track that the sliding hold downs go into like the tracks that are on the bed inner sides. It appears that the velcro was from an accessory like bed cover or something that was removable.

Someone else had corrosion issues on that part and the dealer said it was only available together with the bed, not as a standalone part (@LEXICON I think?). They had theirs rhino lined I believe. Junk yard may be another option.

Gen 3 trucks donn't get the front rail for the sliding tie downs from the factory. We get to purchase that separately, unlike the Gen 2 trucks, it came with it.

I recently removed that from my truck. I’m building a headache rack and that piece doesn’t sit flush with the bed rails. Why would they not line those up??? It is very easy to remove with just some torx screws. Felt like aluminum.
