I just bought a 3rd gen entune audio plus and stuck it in my 2nd gen,
    It fit perfectly.

With that being said, has anyone done the swap and got the ECO to display their mpg?

My radio is dying, did you need adapters? I'm generally clue-free when it comes to radio installs.

No, it’s litterally the same radio, but with some extra features (scout gps, eco, etc).
I’m the same way as you, I just disconnected the plugs from the back and plugged it into the new one and move two mounting brackets from my ‘15 head unit to the ‘17 head unit which was 8 bolts.

    Took about 30 mins total.

I didn’t notice a change in sound, but I only tried my red hot cd.

I’m not sure, I’d imagine the plugs are the same, you might need a bigger trim if you have just the regular small radio and not a touchscreen.

Did you ever get the ECO working properly? I am having the same issue with my head unit swap.

Would this work with the Navi radio out of a 17?
