@Kolunatic Here they do French mound septics cause of the water table being so high. A friend of mine who was a GC home builder warned me of them when I was looking for a house ( I had never seen or heard of them till here) said they can freeze in these temps . And it is either wait till thaw or do a bon fire over the mound. Here in 93 we had the huge ice storm and several folks I know had some problems with the lift station etc. How about down there I do not recall seeing them around Austin but with this weather there are there likely to be a lot of frozen septic systems ?

    You mean aerobic?

Aerobics could freeze up if the heads are frozen they can’t spray. We have a conventional septic, what we call it. Gravity.

The second one https://inspectapedia.com/septic/Septic_System_Design_Alternatives.php gravity I am used to the one you posted Is used here also but the mound is a round a lot here too no idea what drives the use besides the water table and not passing the perk test.

My lived here before we married. She would try to dig a hole, hit rock a few inches down, and move on to the next place. I introduced her to a pick axe. She thinks it's the best thing ever invented. I do most of it now if she will let me know and not do it while I'm at work. I'll tell you more about the history of the house later.

Those may be a little too warm here for our one week of cold. Lol

Have only seen an air pump here in aerobic system where you have a sump pump but it sprays out thru sprinkler heads in the nighttime. Air pump aerates it in tank
