I’m getting 5100’s installed on all four corners on my 2017 TRD Sport on Thursday. However, my debate has been how high to go up front. Ive been torn in between 1.1” (3rd notch) and 1.55” (4th notch). I will be getting a 1” block in the rear. Anyone running a similar setup up front with a block in the rear? I will eventually upgrade to Icon’s but for now this will do.

    Any feedback is appreciated! Thanks!

Edit: I want to maintain rake, hence why I’m going with a 1” block in the back to bring up the rear a bit.

Just get a 1.5" AAL for the rear and set 5100s at 3rd notch. U still will have a small rake. Way better ride and wont make stock leaf springs sag. The AAL isnt that much more $$ anyway. Sorry, im not a fan of blocks.

No worries. Any experience with it though? Have you ran the 5100’s at the 3rd notch? I already have everything purhchased(5100’s and block) so I can’t turn back now haha. I might get the Dakar leaf pack if I start noticing too much sag in the rear.

Yes. I had Bilsteins on my 2011 Tacoma at 1.75 with a block in the back. I quickly switched to an AAL. But sounds like ur on the right path. Our 3rd gen Tacomas set about 1" higher in the front than the 2nd gens do. From what i've been seeing is the 3rd notch (1.1) will level the truck, while adding a 1 inch block or 1.5 AAL will still leave a very small rake.

    Here ya go. 5100s.
    1.5" in front.
    1" block in rear.

I put the 1/4" spacer plate on the driver's side.
Rear sits 3/8" higher than front on the driver's side and 1/2" higher in the passenger's side.

    Roger.

I appreciate the info! Yes, this set up is just a temporary set up until I can get my hands on some Icon’s and start going for more of an overland build. Purely cosmetic at this point, keeping her a pavement princess for a while.

Perfect, exactly what I was looking for! I should have pretty close to factory rake if I stay at the third notch (1.1”) which is what I am wanting. What size tire are you running by the way? I’ll be running 275/70/17.

Those are 265s. They'll need to be switched out soon though. I've got lots of changes happening real soon.
For suspension, I'm doing OME886s and Nitrochargers up front and Chevy 63 swap with 14" Bilsteins in the rear.
I just need to find the time to get this all done.

What was your experience with the block in the rear with the 5100? Did you ever do any off roading? I’ve been reading they tend to top out and damage the schock.

I do Off Road the truck, but those are still factory shocks in the rear. When I installed this lift, I knew it wasn't permanent, so I went cheap.
