3 days ago I was driving my truck and everything was fine. I had my heat on medium, I stopped in a drive though, while sitting there I turned the heat up to high, as soon as I did this, all my gauges started dancing. Then the truck died. I turned the key off, waited about 10 minutes and then it started back up just fine. I drove about 20 minutes. And it was running fine, except I had no heat. And when I turned the heat on, my gauges, mph would drop down to 0 while I was driving, the h/c was warm then would drop to c. My lights were dim. I gave it gas and then everything went back to normal. When I came to a stop I had to put the vehicle in N and keep it reved up for it not to die. It took me about 10 minutes to get home. My truck died right before I got home and would not start back up. I let it sit over night. When I got to it in the morning it started right up. It ran fine for about 15 minutes then started the same thing again.
Any ideas? Could it be battery and blower motor? I also have a oil leak somewhere. Lol is all over the hood and fan area. Not under the truck. No clunk noises from the engine as if I don't have any oil. No puddles when I park though. Ideas would be great!

How many miles on your truck? Toyota Tacomas don't just die. I'm thinking there's an electrical short somewhere.

Also, sometimes when I accelerate on snow, it seems like my headlights dim...

It can always be an internal ground prob. in a component also.

Yeah my battery acid ended up being really low. So put more in the battery and charged it. Now it's 97%. So that's good. And had to replace the resistors on The blower motor so The heat would blow out. The only issue now is the oil leak. Took it to the car wash and washed off all the oil. Could not find it dripping any where. Let it sit over night and came out, lost a quart of oil. Had some one help me. Reved up the engine a few times to see if we could see where the oil was coming from and got nothing. My truck has 150,000 miles on it. Never had any major issues and ran great. Rpm ran a little high but nothing else. Any ideas for that?

So, no oil on the ground? No oil to see on the engine anywhere after washing the engine down? Are you sure you are a quart low! What does the antifreeze look like? Oily or not? Pcv valve working? You really need more info here. Pics of block etc.. if it is leaking onto the block.

I will get pics. Antifreeze is just fine, oil looks like oil. And no puddles on the ground. Except for when I lost the quart. I will send pics of the engine. And under the hood. No even after it was washed off you can't see where the oil is coming from.
