I picked up this set of spacers to ensure my new 15" wheels coming in will clear my calipers on my 04'. If I don't need them I'll just resell them since I only payed $50.20180102_155437[1].jpg

The dude I bought them from mentioned that some tire shops will strip out the aluminum press-fit lugs by torquing down full bore from the start of the shank and thus having too much momentum and ruining the spacers.

My question: Is this something to be worried about? and how do I prevent it from happening?

The guy I was talking to mentioned that it is safer to tighten by hand till snug THEN torque em tight, eliminating the kinetic energy. He also mentioned putting anti-sieze on the threads would help prevent striping the spacers....I don't see how?

I got these home and noticed some ass-hat backed out a set of lugs with a damn hammer, There are whack marks all over the back of one of the spacers....I work with aluminum for a living and don't see any major damage, just looks really ugly...

My 2nd question: Would you run these spacers since there all marred up? The images makes it look a little worse than it really is. I just want to make sure I'll be safe with this end up against my hub. I feel comfortable putting these on, just wanted to share the idiocy of some people....
    :annoyed:

Thanks for reading, & Happy New Year!!!

I would reccomendations getting some hubcetric spacers... they have the lip around the center of the Spacer for your wheel to sit over. Idk I wouldn't cheap out on something like spacers. Spidertrax or BORA. Good luck!

Someone took one of the spacers and backed out the lugs that were press-fit in by setting it upside-down and smacking it with a hammer...thus lightly denting the aluminum.

    I don't know why....

In the image I put them back In but there not pressed in yet.

So they would all bolt together? When I got them they were all one piece and 6 loose nuts/lugs... what an Idiot...
