No way. My Taco will be garaged just like the rest of my cars have been in the past. You'd be surprised the longevity garaging yields to the paint and clear coat. Especially where I live where it's super hot and sunny most of the year.

I have a friend help guide me in parking the vehicle perfectly the first time. It may take a few tries, but when it's done.............

I use a golf wiffle ball with fishing line. Position the ball right in the center of the steering wheel, and where it touches the glass straight in front of my eyes. Thumbtack the line to the ceiling

So I have a line straight in and when to stop.

If I need to use the garage as a shop area, I simply move the ball out of the way.

Doesn't get much cheaper than that.

I've always used a ping pong ball. I like it because it is smaller than a tennis ball, doesn't get that much in the way. I prefer not to have any thing on the floor. My wife's side of garage ping pong ball fell apart after years of use (I think the string fell apart, not the ball). She now uses her glass sunroof to look above and go to the garage opener pull rope. Not sure if I called that out correctly, but it is the pull handle you use to open your door if the power is out.

I still use the ping pong ball for my side (old muscle car)...truck is always outside unless I am doing something I need it inside.

put a screw eye in the ceiling above where you want the ball to hang. run the string through the eye and attach it to the top of the garage door. when the door goes up the ball comes down. when the door is down the ball is up & out of the way.

I just use back up camera with a piece of pipe wrap on the wall for reassurance, and a piece of blue painters tape showing where the center of the rear bumper needs to be.
I don’t want to hear about anyone complaining about fit....
this is our current situation for the taco in Florida. Until we are back in NH to our 4 car 26’ deep garage!

This works for me. I line up the vertical hash mark on the backup camera with the expansion joint on the driveway and garage. I stop when then horizontal hash mark on the backup camera lines up with the one painted on the cabinet.

I had a small piece of square tubing left from a project, parked the truck in the garage and then drew a sharpie line in case I needed to move it. I just pull in until the front tire touches.

Tight fit you say? Me too! I put a piece of tape on the shelf so that when my hoodline hits the bottom of the tape it’s time to stop.F9F5A714-1850-414E-912D-1820013E0606.jpg

The ol' rubber ball in the mirror crotch every time.

I have some tie-down straps and ropes hanging on the garage wall for storage. When the front bumper just barely nudges them and I see movement, I know I'm within 2" inches of the wall.

In PA it wasn't too bad. In WA, the rubber grows mildew and algea and the headlights hazed in no time. Shit looks post-apocalyptic before it is paid off.

Lol. True true. Spent years living 6 months Oregon coast, then 6 months Juneau Alaska, back and forth, back and forth.... Moss found its home.

Back in. I use the camera.

Pull in. I drew a line on the wall so I look to my left and line up. As a fail safe I raised the garage door electric eyes to the height of the bumper.
