So I have been type 1 since 28. Lean build 180# etc. Anyway

Been on Medtronic 630. Was on the upgrade promotion to change to the new 670 g. Had it roughly 3 months or so.

Just curious if anyone else has one what are your experiences etc?

If no how do you treat?

I use a Dexcom G5 CGM, but I use novolog and tresiba pens to administer. I hate having things attached to my body, so this was the best compromise I could make with myself.

The G5 even works with my phone so I don't have to carry the little monitor unit.

I was ready to give up the CGM with auto mode after a month / 6 weeks. it consistency was crashing my sugars late afternoon, into the 50s / 40s. I went off it for a few weeks, talked with the rep, and back on it now for a month or so. things are better, but not great. My biggest gripe with it, is the lows.......still working with dr., and the rep, to make whatever adjustments we can, which is not much in auto mode. carb ratio / sensitivity and insulin duration are about all that can be adjusted I believe. Still tweaking / uploading results / reviewing / adjusting, etc.......

I broke my pump on a wheeling trip last year. dropped it in the bathroom, and kerploded. it was 5+ years old, so was time for a new one anyways. I went 3-4 days no pump, nothing attached to me and it was the weirdest feeling. I have been pumping for nearly 20 years, which means hooked up for 20 years. I felt naked, was really weird......maybe someday we can all get unhooked forever........maybe.........

Between rock climbing where my harness rubs the sensor area, mountain biking where I have had a few nasty crashes, and other hobbies, the least thing I need is more expensive stuff to break :D

I thought there had to be some users out there.

I was very frustrated with auto mode and had several calls to medtronic. i finally gave up on it for a few weeks, adjusted carb to insulin ratio and tried again. Has been wonderful so far. just random asking for BG gets old but i was told not to enter again and it would sort itself out, which it does.

i have broken 2 clips, and recently broke the pump housing where clip slides in to. I called and should be getting a new case any day now and they said they would replace my pump. I am going to try their pouch for a little bit so it doesnt happen again. Mine broke sitting down in a chair and it caught the arm rest. I just wish it broke the clip..

still hard to get used to since i was diagnosed type 1 at 28. I am almost 34 and havent really looked back. My a1c is below normal range by a little bit so i am satisfied.

When uploading i am usually staying in automode over 90% of time. Seems to drop out mostly at night, so i probably need to do hour specific tuning.

Nice. Good stuff. I have hope that i can get this thing dialed in. I feel like i am eating to prevent my lows which sucks. I want to be able to skip a meal, or eat later than normal without going low. I am really looking fwd to my next A1c to see if this is helping me, i bet it will be better since i am borderline low a lot if the time it seems. I just cant operate on the edge like that.

I have been waking up around 100. I have mine set to 120 iirc so it usually stays close to there. If not eating there is a way to let it know. I usually just suspend seems to be easier for me then resume when it allows.

You can see where mine broke here. It is a very weak design spot imo.

I like this clip better than the older pump style clip. I broke those 2-3x a year. This one is holding up so far, but i have learned to have a spare clip on hand from past experience.
