I was born in California, but I've only lived there a combined total of 3 years. I'm 28 years old and I've lived in Pennsylvania for almost 19 years.

This is yet another reason why I will never move there!

$129 to register my truck for 2 years, here in PA. We still have emissions testing and safety inspections, but unlike the People's Republic of Commiefornia, emissions/inspection and registration are not tied together...

Over 400 to register my truck here in California, but shit besides the "lib-tards" and the overly conservative red necks it's a damn beautiful state.

LA County. $384 registration, done by mail in December, no smog. Truck was bought in '16. guess some of us are luckier than others

Just renewed my CA registration for $330, was originally $515, but submitted my military non-exemption form. Just had to do it in person and loose one hour of my life at DMV office today.

Are you active. Here in Ga. the first Military plate is FREE. Each subsequent one up to four is 20 bucks. Don't matter if you drive a Lamborghini or a Yugo.

Honorably discharged veterans also do not have to renew their driver's license until they are 65!

My friend Doug, a former Marine from Washington (state), still has a Washington driver's license despite living in Atlanta. His Washington license never expires!

Aside from the people and policies and cost of living, CA is the best state hands down as far as scenery, diversity, weather and things to do. It's really not even close.

    That said, man.....F this state.

Yes...active duty Marine. My previous Taco was registered in Texas and only had to pay about $50 a year.

CA is a beautiful place to live, but cost of living and liberals do suck!

I agree and I am sorry brother. Semper Fi. Montana was just like Ga. 25 bucks and you were good. We bought a house there , so we have vehicles registered in both states.

Unknown lift, maybe 2" I don't know how to ID it, and would rather set it back to stock.
While this thread essentially deteriorated into non-helpful stuff about who has smog laws, how much registration costs, etc. What is this OP?? The recall is for the CKP which is what Toyota calls the Crank Position sensor. It is a 10 minute replacement job, and is reached either thru the passenger wheel well if you really care to do it that troublesome way, or from underneath the truck, on the passenger side, low portion of block towards the back. There isn't a recall for a Cam Sensor on your truck. If so, then post the recall for us, show us a photo of your service document so we can add this to the knowledge stream of the Gen 3 subforum.

    ^^^This^^^

Thanks for bringing that up @mateo_roberto, but it just got lost in the chaff and chatter.

^^^This link does not show the right part number. This is the part number associated with the original "bad" sensor. The new sensor number is 90919 05098 These two sensors shown in this photo are the new versions of the CKP Crank Position Sensor:

Bold print text in the quotes above are mine, for emphasis. THIS is the document for the recall

LOL, in WA my 2018 is over $600. That's to support a transit system that will be packed on day 1. On the plus side (?) it won't go to where the people mostly paying for it actually are, and there will be pretty much no parking at the stations. Oh, and they scammed the state legislature and are using a "modified" depreciation schedule. The 2013 Tundra I traded in was $360 this year. The Taco will be close to $600 next year as well, and probably over that.
