Received my grille today from areyourshop-a, overall I'm happy with the results. It came as the one piece with the letters, I had to do some painting on the T and A... hahaha! Childish, yea a little. Anyways, had one clip broken but was packaged very well and no signs of damage from shipping. Fit was good and for $125, completely satisfied.

 

What paint did you use?

 

Received mine the other day 102.99 + 15 shipping and it looks pretty decent. Also will have to put the letters on it like the pics above. Probably have to do this in order to pass through customs I bet but right now pretty happy. I have yet to install it and will wait for some warmer temps before I start doing it though.

 

Just got mine today too. Same grille. Did you or are you going to paint it. Thinking about satin black. I never paid much attention, are the factory grilles painted or bare plastic ?

 

your letters dont come off too right? i wanna paint the letters white (color of my truck) but i cant seem to mask the black part on the sides since my letters dont come off

 

Krylon matte black then sprayed a clear Krylon matte finish over the top of the entire grille. Probably not necessary for the clear just figured a little more protection. But the Tand A were all grey so that was a must for me. Any flat or satin black would work fine.

 

Try using a toothpick to work the tape around the edges or an easier option just order vinyl decals from @rrentrop

 

Been lurking this thread for a while and seems like most people are installing these on 16/17s. Anyone tried to install them on the 18s and how it works with the TSS? Thanks.

 

To be clear, the only black paint I used was on the two letters that came all grey. The main body looked good the way it came.

Just a word of warning everyone but I had some issues with my order. The seller is no longer listed on eBay because eBay removed him (eBay wouldn't say why).

Paid $110 for a grill, received 4 LEDs. I opened a case with eBay and will be refunding my money. Watch out for a new user who begins selling these, it could be who I dealt with.

 

Clear coated before install and VERY PLEASED. made the plastic match the black of the truck a lot better.... photo doesn’t do it justice. Doesn’t look gray at all.

 

Reliable.deal is also the beileya-o (or however you spell it) guy. He is the Malaysian scammer that has scammed tons of us, me included.

 

Has anybody tried rubbing off the gunmetal/silver from the edges of the T and A letters with a paint remover instead of painting the edges black? Just an idea..

 

Got mine from areyourshop-a today....it’s a one piece with stick ons, but it looks great, so I’m just gonna roll with it and paint the letter skirts on the T and the A.

 

So there is hope! Hopefully will have mine tommorow! Only took a month!

 

@crawldad my tracking now says "in transit to destination" but doesn't give my address as the destination. Does your tracking info give your physical address as the final destination?
