Chilling near Lake Lure, NC. Doesn't look cold, but it's a solid 15F.

awesome pics man! heading out next week to both of these places and it looks like the night temps are going to drop down into the 30s. Any tips LOL? We have hand warmers, warm clothes and sleeping bags, and a Mr. Heater. Just trying to decide if i wanna sleep in the softopper or tent.

Looks like some heavy rain headed for the Sierra's on Monday and Tuesday. Bring your rain stuff. Ez-up, extra tarps, ponchos etc

Ground will still be wet. Extra tarps on the ground will help keep the tent dry. 60s during the day will be nice. 30s at night will be chilly but doable. It will get cold quick once that sun goes behind the mountain.

Wife and I slept in the back with the softopper one night, then set up the tent the second and third night.

Thanks for the tips guys. Might use the softopper for sleeping in Alabama Hills and then set up the tent when we get to DV the next day. we'll see. I'll be sure to being extra tarps for the ground.

Extra blankets are a big help too for under and on top of the sleeping bags. Or a good insulated sleeping pad. Trap that heat.
