I ordered a 2018 Tacoma Off road, DBL Cab, 4x4, with MT and premium + technology package.
Been 4 weeks now. Not a clue from my dealer on arrival time. Anyone out there who has ordered a similar truck recently? What was your delivery time>

I don’t think you “ordered” it. Can’t do that. Pretty sure you are at the mercy of Toyota for when they get around to building the particular configuration you “ordered”....I’d say grab some popcorn and hunker down. It could be a while.

I ordered that exact truck but in a 17 and it took a little less than 4 months.

Depends on a lot of factors. Mine was about 4 months. You could lucky and the dealer could get an allocation sooner

I want the same configuration. In August there were 5 or 6 2017s in that config. Now there’s one being allocated my area so says Toyota allocation site

It is not an order as stated rather an allocation to a dealer. I have a 2018 Off Road Double Cab Inferno that my dealer found allocated to another dealer outside my state and “swapped” allocations to get my truck. That was in November and they said maybe March.

all of the above has answered some of my questions... trying to find a 2018 Tacoma that in my opinion isnt that special and it is just frustrating. Using the local Toyota dealships portal to build and price. I guess what I want doesnt exist... 2018 Access cab, 4X4, MT, 6' bed, White, V6 with a cup holder. You would think the streets would be littered with them. The other issue if finding what is avalible for each model, SR, TRD etc. Can you get a SR with a V6 or only 4 cyl, questions like that are left unanswered.

I talked to six dealers before I found one savvy enough or careing enough to use the allocation system to get what I wanted.when I had follow ups a couple of the other guys were dumbfounded that I did find what I wanted after they told me my configuration “didn’t exist”

I'm surprised (probably shouldn't be) at how little the dealers/salespeople know about these. I visited a dealer just when 2018's were first arriving on the lots. Guys didn't even know which trucks were 2017 and which were 2018. He thought the 2017 included TSS. I then told him I was looking for a 2018 DCSB OR with the premium pkg that included leather and he said it doesn't exist. I argued with him for a few minutes until my father who was with me managed to get us on a different subject.

This is why when I buy, I am going to try the email thing. Much easier than arguing with an ignorant salesman.

That’s how I did it...email then phone. I wasn’t wasting time driving and talking to sales folks.

My truck luckily was already built at the dealership the way I wanted it. Everything matched trd OR, cement gray, tech package, and 4x4. But didn’t have to order it, sorry bud.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
AC? you may be waiting a bit longer than most. Throw in the fact you want a MT -- those are rare. Mine took 7 weeks to get and the Toyota builders was in about the same time frame as we are now. Mine - ordered early Dec 16 arrived on Valentiines Day 17. BTW -- ALL ac's are built at San Antonio TX. That is unless they changed that for 2018
Mine is a 17 Blue SR5 AC AT 4WD with the only option being Tow pkg. Dealer looked all over -- there was none like it on any dealers allocation lists, nor were there any scheduled to be built. They got it done however and 7-8 weeks later it came in. I did find out that it set in the KC depot area for a couple of weeks waiting for -WHAT? The truck probably confused the depot people, as there was nothing to ad at the depot. Tow pkg. is a factory addition --now for 18 std.
I have yet to see another like mine on the road around Missouri

I don't know what the current wait time is like, but I special ordered my 2017 TRDOR about a year ago in the same spec as yours (OR, MT, P+T, Quicksand) and had to wait over 4 months for mine to show up.

If its only been four weeks and you're already getting antsy, It's going to be a LONGGGG wait. But will be worth it when it finally arrives.
