Just want to spread some love and my new found appreciation for the capabilities of our stock Tacos. Got her salty for the first time in Jersey last week. Our area in south east VA just took a hit of winter that this area is not prepared to handle. I have to go to work in the crap so it’s up to the Taco to get me there. Stock suspension, stock tires. 17 OR MT. What an impressive performance. Stuck to the road like glue. About 12 inches of snow on the streets with no plow in sight and she just chugs right on through. Makes me wonder. All you guys further North, just how much snow does it take to stop a stock Taco?

Horrible pics taken hours after traveling. And last weeks saltiness...

Dunno, haven't been stopped by snow yet. Does that mean I have to try harder?

That same storm has been bootfucking us in Atlantic Canada most of the day. I've been fortunate, all rain so far (shit tons of it)... that's supposed to change tomorrow though.

    Fucking high winds!

Tacomas are very capable trucks in stock form. I 100% agree. My tacomas have taken me many places over the years that other trucks may be questionable.

Came home from work last year with 18+ inches of snow on roads that weren't plowed.....no problems....eventually had over 26 inches of snow here in North East Pa. and the truck handled it no problem. Truck is 100% stock.

I felt the same I live in Hampton roads area, but mine is a bit modified and my first 4wd. First day in the blizzard just a couple inches which was easy work.IMG_9823.jpg
2nd day was like 12-14 inches of snow and was determined to try to get stuck..never happened. Happy I bought a 4wd this time around. And 4lo for driveways FTW lol

Jealous of all the snow the east coast is getting---midwest has been pretty tame this winter... most we've seen is 5 inches or so.

Welp, due this damn storm I love my Taco even more...
Power has been out since about 3AM, and I don’t have a genny (yeah, yeah, dumb). Anyway, after disconnecting my panel from the mains for safety, I backfed power into the house from the truck’s 110 outlet. Started her up, and was able to power my boiler burner, 2 zone valves/t-stat transformer and 1 small circ pump on low setting. Heat! Fuckin A, love my Taco!

We just got about 12" or more yesterday in Boston/North Shore MA. Looks like you got far less than a foot from your pics. I went everywhere I needed to handily! There must have been 4+" of snow on 495 and 93 when I passed through at night. Not something you can handle in a car easily!

I can go through soft snow banks higher than my bumper if you have enough momentum . We had snow drifting a couple feet deep over roads and driveways and I plow right through. 4WD is key. Our neighbors have a 2WD Tacoma and I had to pull them out when it was just a dusting. They stopped on the incline of their driveway and slid into a retaining wall.

Took this pic in the middle of downtown Belmont, after they had just plowed it. Still no others on the road!

We got ~12" to 15" in that storm and this truck does great in 2wd, but on un-plowed road with 8+" I use 4wd. Very solid truck driving in snow.
