    Hi!

I’m on the sr to sr5+ Cluster swap route BUT the new cluster reading obviously doesn’t match my actual mileage.. programming it through Toyota is virtually impossible..

I contacted someone and wants $175 for the job and I can’t pay that much...

Anyone that knows someone? Or can do that?

    Thanks!!!

Legally, No. I would just pay the 175 and be done.

Probably this... Odometer fraud is a felony. I am not sure of the "legality" given that you're taking mileage to where it was before, but if I were in your shoes I would probably pay the money and move on... Or just wouldn't do anything if they're close.

But isn’t it a felony when you try to make some sort of fraud with it?? I actually want to do the right thing.. put the correct miles on the new odometer...

I won’t sale my truck in the next 5 or 6 years and if I sell it I would tell the new owner that I did it like an upgrade..

It’s one of many mods I’ve done in my truck....

    You really can’t afford $175?

I find that hard to believe. Don’t want to spend and can’t spend are different things.

You want to change the cluster, can’t program it correctly and don’t want to pay for someone else to do so. Either you fix it, or it’s fraudulent as soon as you have any odometer readings taken.

So.. I’d either sell the cluster or pay the $175.

I didn’t expected that it would cost that much.. I’ll look for other options but if I can’t find one, like you said, I’ll spend the money...

How much difference on the cluster mileages?

I know how it goes with cash flow, so don’t take my post as a slam (please). Modding and swapping things isn’t free, so my workaround was not to do more than what I could do correctly.

Do you need to know, or care?
Gofundme page. "Want to change mileage to what it actually is, really!". ;)

Even if you are telling the truth, changing it is still not right.
