Retro-ing your own is a much cheaper alternative and really isn't that difficult. Parts can be had from TRS for around $200. I am probably in the running for least mechanically inclined on the site and I was able to tackle it. Given, mine did not look as nice or cool as the retrofits that the vendors sell, but they still got the job done.

Then I hit I deer, and insurance wouldn't replace them because they weren't stock, and now I have to start all over again, but I digress...

Next time around I am going to try and paint the reflector bowls to make it look better.

Were you nervous when you tossed those headlights into the oven? :D I imagine that, and cutting a hole in your fender to fit a snorkel are 2 of the most nerve-wracking things a Tacoma owner can do to their trucks.

Yeh I was really nervous, but it was an aftermarket set I got off ebay. After I hit the deer, they got replaced with another set of aftermarkets, and now I got an OEM set that I have been meaning to retro for a while. I am really nervous about that still!

I'm not sure if I'm getting a snorkel yet but imagine I'll be a little nervous. :D

Little of this and a little of that

I actually helped cut/install a snorkel on a fellow members truck first time meeting him. It was a little nerve-racking to say the least. I'm going to eventually put one mine. I can't make my mind up it I want to go with huge log from ARB made for 2nd gen or use the modified kit from Cruiser Outfitters for the Hi lux.

I don't know about up there, but they're forecasting rain down here for this coming week so you maybe able to get in some real world water testing.

Being inside the box and not directly exposed, I would guess that it would hold up fairly well.

One would hope. But apparently this simple fix was beyond the powers-that-be at Rotopax to include it on the item to begin with. :D

I'm wondering if it will fit in there even though I have this installed under the top of my lid:
