This is a somewhat sparatic yet consistent build of my 1998 Tacoma TRD 4x4 Ltd, 5 speed manual 3.4L v6 limited only by my budget. So last year I finally sold my LC 100 to get something smaller, capable, and better on MPG. I found a mint little taco out in Nashville and brought it home as soon as the owner could meet. 260,000 miles is high but the frame was immaculate and the P.O. did a fair share of baselining for he sold it. Including the clutch, diffs, and paint job. Which is Pearl White Kia paint, what I believe is found on the white optimas.
Within the week I had the eibach/Toytec coilovers in the front with 3.75” Toytec superflex shocks with Toytec coils, paired with Old Man Emu Dakar leafs (factory leafs were pretty much done) in the rear. I went ahead and did the 1” diff drop to help with angles cause I knew I wouldn’t have UCAs in the near future.
Note: I still need to get longer u-bolts to add the Toytec aal should net another .75” as I actually ended up with more ride height in the front.
It looked funny riding around on 15s and 235s so I ended up going with Treadwright Guard Dogs as I wanted MTs but didn’t have $1500 to drop on trail graps. My experience so far has been fantastic and they do even better on the trails. I was out the door $535 for 4 tires to my door. While I was waiting on shipping I took a trip out to Marietta, GA to see the guys at 4wheelparts. I was out the door with some 16” pro comp D windows, g2 gear and axle 1.25” spacers and some of their locking lugs.
At this point I’m conflicted cause the camper top is so clean but it wasn’t on my original list of things I wanted on my taco, id like to think the taco will be on 35s one day. I ended up selling it and scooping a nice swingout off letgo I’m not positive who makes it but it’s strong and well made.

Currently waiting for 4xinnovations sliders to come in and some ditch light brackets from srqfab. Armor is high up on the list to make up for the travel I don’t have. A winch is in order as well before we plan any long road trips.

This truck eats and really isn’t anything I’ve thrown at it, it hasn’t walked over.

Can’t just see a flex ramp and not drive on it..

**If you are interested in seeing more pictures of the truck in action find me on Instagram @nooga_taco and say what’s up.**

It’s AOP indeed. Some of the best wheeling around if you’re looking to get straight into some rocks!

4xinnovations sliders came in today, I ordered them maybe two days ago lol. So shout out to them for quick shipping.
Sliders came separate from the couplings and the mounting plates. We got them lined up right where we wanted them and tacked the couplings and plates on and pulled it out. To save from doing all that twice we copied angles and measurements and did the other slider on the table. Got them painted up with Dupicolor Bedliner and went to welding.Finished product featuring my cousins sas’d twin sticked 1st gen... must be nice!
