I mean if the spare steelie is wide enough to accommodate 275/70/17 or even 285/70/17 tire? Thanks

Isn't the wheel the same dimensions as the ones on the ground?

I only know that it's the same 17" diameter

If you're worried about fit run a 255/80R17 on the spare. Almost identical diameter, just narrower. Plus its cheaper, no reason to spend big bucks on a tire, just to mount on a steel rim and hide it.

Thanks that's actually a good idea. I was also thinking to put some P rated or standard load tire cause it's cheaper on steelie. Or used. Size is critical though

Actually 255/80/17 is 33.06" vs 275/70/17 is 32.15. Almost an inch. Don't know if that can be a problem

Use the tire calculator to figure out something closer if you wish.

As far as knowing the wheel size, it should be stamped on the edge of the wheel. My guess is it's the same dimensions as the wheel on the ground.

Yes. The only thing that is important is the wheel diameter (the 17).

Those tires will not however, fit in your spare spot without modifications.

Theres a couple brackets you can cut off and bend out of the way and fit 33s. Its the tire diameter that matters not rim...255/80/17 are great tire size but your options are a bit limited for choices. Also the spare steel rim has the stock offset so if you put a 285/70/17 on there it might rub your UCA so you might only be able to use it on the rear..
