This pine cone sat on the hood of the truck for 30 miles on Friday not moving a inch , it was on the truck when I left work on Friday and when I got home I tapped it and it was literally just laying there not frozen to the hood, after highway driving lol

Maybe I’m not driving fast enough ? Hmm

    Thread revival.

    Subject: Meat and eat/ Greet
    When: Open for discussion
    Where: Lehigh Valley, see below

In some peoples eye's, I promised a brisket party if I won the BBQ photo contest sponsored by Pitfaced BBQ. I did win the TW event by default, the actual vote winner also won a similar contest on FB, and could only claim one prize pack. He took the FB prize, meaning I got the TW prize.

I have a potential venue that can hold plenty of people, as I don't have the space at my house. It is the VFW where I'm a life member. The problem, there is a fee for use of the pavilion area. It is around $200-250 for the day, normally, and I need to find out for sure how much it would be for me to rent. I cannot pay the fee myself, and buy the meat for smoking to feed us all. Suggestion, if we can get 20 people to show up, each person kicks in for the rental of the pavilion only, likely $10-15. If someone has alternative sites to support this in mind, speak up.

I will buy and smoke at least one brisket and some pork shoulders for pulled pork, or enough to feed however many people commit to attend. Alcohol is welcomed, and I would suggest a BYOB if you want to have a drink, or maybe a few people can brings some 30 packs or something. I know @Cooktop86 said he could bring other smoked food. Maybe a few others could bring sides, buns, etc.

The VFW would most likely not prefer a lot of work taking place on trucks in the parking lot, as they would still have patrons in and out for the bar/restaurant. So light mods, general gawking etc. would be fine. There are horseshoe pits on sight as well for those that would like to try and beat me at a game or two.

If there is interest, we can get a list going, and talk about dates, etc.
I'll edit the list below for interested people.

Hey, just checking in. Not that I want to invite myself aaand the family, but... Would that be a family type of an event? Or should I just get back to my corner....

PayPal the $ for event space rental? Or COD?

I can make some stuff as well. And it’s a good chance to make a large batch of my bbq sauce.

    Can be family if desired.

    What’s in this sauce?

    And :fingerscrossed:
Definitely, for logistics reasons. Although, i’d Probably run the smoker all night, then bring it with to make burnt ends.

I’ll update the list tomorrow after the water heater issue is done, and I get home from scouts.
