I want more ground clearance but just how much more are you guys getting running 285s on either stock or upgraded trucks?

My 3rd gen is at 9.4 measured at my rear diff from the ground, but if I can get it to 11.4 then I'd be very happy. Also please excuse my noobness as I just started learning about suspension lifts and how tire size ultimately determines ground clearance.

You'll get the difference between the radius of your current setup and the radius of the new setup.

Basically you can go to 32's with a stock Taco ... gets you about 10 inch ground clearance. After that (e.g, 33's) you need to start trimming plastic and steel.
