Well thanks to everyone’s input on my last post, I decided to pass on the 07 with a oil leak. This week I’m going to take a look at a red 2011 single cab, with 78k on it. From talking to the guy and pictures, the only thing I’m unsure of is that it has a pro comp leveling kit. I’ve read/heard that leveling kits can be bad for trucks, and I’m wondering if it’s worth my time to take it off if I decide to buy the truck. Any other advice with 2011s is appreciated. Thanks guys

I wouldn’t worry about the leveling kit, you’ll probably want to slightly upgrade the suspension anyway.

Over time I would like to build the truck to some extent, just was unsure if the leveling kit could be a big issue. Thanks.

It won't be an issue when it's in the trash ;)

As long as there's no issues that are obvious when you drive it, just get rid of it when you get funds for an upgraded suspension setup. Nothing meant to alarm you - sorry about that.

They preload the coilovers unnecessarily and don't contribute to flex / load support in the rear.

The problem isn't what it does to the truck, it's what it doesn't do to help in off-roading - a small spacer / block lift on road is an economical solution to wanting a little more height on someone's vehicle - it just doesn't contribute to performance over stock and the bigger spacer lifts can reduce ride quality. It's all good, it depends on someone's expectations for their truck. You won't see a serious off-roading vehicle with a spacer lift because it reduces the functionality of the suspension. Giving a little lift to the truck spacer lifts can do well on a budget.

own a 2011 access cab installed leveling spacers in front raised front 1/2 inch hasn't affected nothing but looks.doesnt change preload on coils alignment is fine unless its lift plus leveling kit shouldn't hurt a thing
