There is a line on all MSRP window stickers that refers to "50 state emissions", which I would interpret as legal to own/drive in all 50 states.

You might be referring to mods though. For example if you tint your windows too dark, then it's not legal. If you put a bully bar with a buzz saw blade in front of it, like something out of Mad Max or Death Race 2000, then you will not be "street legal".

OP - here's a handy quick visual guide:

Not legal due to the large Bowie knife mounted on hood

    Legal

Not legal due to the spikes on the Volkswagon. Any other car would be legal to have spikes, but not on the VW.

Now that I think about it.........

Off road use should not require a registration/plate/insurance or even an operators license.

Could be a real money saver.

Ask the dealer if they will flatbed it to the house for you, or if you have to bring your own.

    All true.

And don't even think about driving my model unless you are a fully licensed Pro. You'll do jail time if you get pulled over.

Thats a nice unit, but you can't mount it vertically if you wanted to have the gate closed and combine it with a roof rack to carry something long up high.

If you look at how the 'straight' ones are made, you just remove the T, but the short end of the L in the hitch, and mount the T on top.

Here's mine in the low position prepping to load a pair of yaks. But you can see how it can be rearranged.

That looks cool. I don't know if it's the angle of the shot or what, but that looks like an awfully long lever-arm on that thing, like you wouldn't be able to put much weight on it without it bending or exceeding tongue weight pretty quickly...no? I guess not if you're putting kayaks on it.
