Thanks Casper66! Winter camping isn't for everyone, but no crowds and no bugs. You need the fire to warm up and a hot water bottle in the sleeping bag really helps as well. Cheers

Yeah our little camper is like being in a hard sided tent and the older I get sitting around in the cold, although I've never let it keep me out of a tree stand, hurts my hands. I guess I was cured of it when I was in the Army camping in GP tinies in the snow. It does look cool though and again great looking rig!

    A little a this, a little a that...
I'm another fan of the plastic bi-fold tables. Simple and sturdy. I got one of the REI roll up deals but returned it immediately. It didn't hold much weight. It didn't feel safe even with my 4 gallon water container on it. Tho they may be better now, YMMV.

And the right clothing. Not for everyone, but a little practice helps.
Quiet, no bugs, less crowds, crisp air.
    You can say that again.

I think Crom has a long folding reliance table and benches. We used it in Mojave but he most likely uses it with his family.

I found this table in the other truck camping thread I think I may order this one. I figured if I use this in concert with the flat folding table it will give me plenty of "counter space" and storage. at the campgrounds they usually have a picnic table but when we're able to escapr them I figure we can use the flat folding table as a dinner table also

Ha! I never noticed I've been in there for a while also. Nobody ever said anything. I mean y'd think truck camping is the same no matter what gen truck. I got into this with the fact there's 2 super white threads it doesn't make sense to me oh well

Hey Guys. Casper... I've been roll'n that GCI Cook table and a folding table. Perfect setup. GCI is heavy and sturdy. Side tables are not super strong, but plenty for pots etc.
I've kept a 2 gallon water jug on one. Great table. I'm new to TW and this thread makes me want to quit my job immediately for a long road trip.:ballchain:Somewhere it's not raining:thumbsup:

I'm telling you, go with the simple Reliance type tables. Those folding types are more hype. If you were in SoCal I'd sell you my old REI one which is very similar.

    Keep it simple...

I have the simple fold up I'm looking at the other collapsable more for like a shelving system than a table. We bought a small 3-4 shelf plastic shelving system that can be setup pretty quick and works good I just thought perhaps this folding table may allow some more stability and surface area. We're constantly trying to figure out ways to organize the cooking area. Great totes BTW we have several

Here you can see how we kinda set things up in the picture though you have to try and also visualize the kitchen being pulled out of the rear of the trailer

That trailer rocks Casper! I took a picture of the drawer from your build thread - when I build my rear drawer system I might copy that design. Very nice setup sir! Cheers

Apologies for the photo dump but I'm a visual person and enjoy pics on here as much if not more than informational text. I hope ya'll enjoy the pics..

    Ok so table talk..

Ive been through the process of camp tables for a few years and feel like this could help with camp table setup ideas. I'll start with my first camp table. Believe it or not I was actually super into a high clearance rear bumper not only for the added clearance on trail, not just for holding a full size spare, but I thought the built in fold down camp table on the swing out was an awesome feature. I already had a set of LED light pods rear facing out of the cap, after bumper install turns out the lighting hit the table perfectly. The swing out table has got lots of use over the years.

Along the way I picked up a small rubbermaid table. Keeping it in the bed with good organization was tough as I started building a drawer platform. So I've had this idea for a while seeing very few online and none done to a fiberglass cap.. I built a tray to hold the table and be stored up in the ceiling of the cap out of the way.

Having two tables is a great setup
    GOPR8165.jpg
    IMG_9516.jpg

One more thing that was bothering me was the tailgate, being a third camp table the standard ribbed top was bothering me. I looked into the tailgate reinforcement skins on the market but decided to make my own. I took a sheet of 1/8" aluminum and cut out the new table top to the tailgate. I decided to get it powder coated for durability and it came out amazing.

Having Three flat table surfaces at camp is by far the best setup I've had! I like to set them up in a U fashion so walking in and out the table setup is easy and being surrounded by the tables means everything is in your reach. As well, setup and breakdown makes each stop at camp effortless. The Tables can be setup first or last and put away the same.

    Happy camping

This is basically the same setup I have, and I have been planning on building an aluminum skin for the tailgate. The one you built looks great, any tips on cutting it out? Figured I will use a jigsaw / angle grinder and flap disc any rough edges. How did you get the tailgate traced out on aluminum? (not what you used to trace it, but how you got the correct shape)
