Will anyone possibly be at Hidden Falls this week Thur-Friday? It’s my first trip, any tips? We will be camping at some tree grove, going with a guy that’s been once before.

Don't rely on the map they give you. If you can, use http://www.hildstrom.com/projects/hfap/index.html to use your phone's gps. I use his files with a free app called Avenza. Another app called, View Ranger works pretty well too. I think Gaia might have the trails also but that's paid. At the very least, fire up Google Maps in satellite view so you can see trails from overhead. Won't be quite up to date but it's better than guessing what's a trail and what's not. It'll save you a lot of headache and scratches if you're able to stay on marked trails and not wind up having to turn around on some atv path you took by accident.

Thanks a bunch! I downloaded the app and added the 4x4 map, can’t wait to try it out. I’ve been in those situations before.... stuck on a trail, couldn’t back out easily and couldn’t continue due to width. Had to forge through a mesquite field, cost me a tire and some knarly pin stripes.

 

Fell asleep before Bama took the lead, was wanting Bull Dogs to win it.

 

Worth watching highlights. Or at least last few minutes and OT

 

Food for thought...

You're better off meeting up at Southpark Meadows simply because of the Wm Cannon bridge and highway construction. It's a LOT easier to hit the highway from Slaughter than it is from Wm Cannon.

Okay, I just copied all of these details to the owner of that pristine X-Runner I work with. He's expressed an interested. Granted, it's expected to be a balmy 32 degrees at sunrise on Sunday, but tacos warm the body and the heart!!

 

So does Hot chocolate with gingerbread southern comfort.
