I just switched my map and dome lights out and have been trying to figure out how to have only the dome lights turn on automatically when I open the truck door.

I noticed that if I turn the map lights to the "off position", then the dome lights don't come on either. So no light in cabin at all when I open the door.

So does the map interior lights control the dome light as well? The way the interior lights work now it's either all or nothing (all lights on or no lights on).

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this or has a work around.

Probably not exactly what u r looking for, but if u really don’t want the dome light to come on (and no other way works), couldn’t u just leave the bulb out? May not b the best option but it would def keep the maps on, but the dome off. Just trying to think of an idea that might help ya. Hope u get it figured out.

Yeah... but I want the dome light on without the map lights. I thought I might have screwed something up during the OEM to LED interior bulb swap.

When I had the OEM bulbs I never tested this on/off configuration before because with OEM bulbs I needed all the dim orange light I could get LOL.

Anybody thinking of changing to interior LED's, I highly recommend this upgrade. World of difference!
