What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Oh that's no fun. At least the plastic cover is only about $30 so it's a relatively cheap fix. I just keep a swifter duster in my center console and use it for that and the dash whenever it needs it. You wouldn't believe the looks I get at red lights when I'm dusting my dash hahaha

 

been there, done that. Spent some time with my Novus kit and it's back to new. Dang that plastic is soft.

LOL!!! I have found that passengers dont appreciate the dusting while they are riding along either haha.

Got the scratches outta mine using a photo lense cleaning cloth that contains some kind of chemical. It works but not a permanent fix. Think I'll replace mine come spring.

I'll tell you what I'm about to do... replace another damn headlight bulb! I think this is the 4th time I've replaced headlight bulbs in my truck in the 1 year that I've owned it. Very frustrating.

 

Mine gradually got worse, when I took the stock air tube out, the foam gasket the sits inside the hole in the fender well was rotted to hell. you can just remove that small section, or just put some weather stripping in place of the foam gasket if you wanna keep the stock air filter.

I keep having to replace the bulbs in #wifey's Forester, but I'm putting in H9 bulbs instead of H11s.
Are your bulbs and/or sockets modified at all?

 

Nothing modified. All stock.

 

I assume you're not touching the bulbs with your skin at all before putting them in.
Have you attempted a different brand/model bulb? Maybe buy them from somewhere else? (possible shipping/storage damage causing the short-life of the bulbs).

I can tell you that the bulbs I'm replacing in the FXT have been bought from Amazon, and each time I go to return/replace one when it burns out in a few months, they never want me to return the bad one, and they give me a full refund. ...so at least there's no additional cost involved if you go that route.

 

I’m very careful to not touch the bulbs. This is what I’ve been using. I like the light output, but the longevity sucks.

 

Output is also what makes me use the H9 over H11 in the Subarus. I used to run Silverstar bulbs, but they've always had short lives IMHO.
Maybe just start buying them from Amazon, and when they burn out prematurely, just return/reorder.......

 

That's odd, I use the same bulbs. Been in mine since 2015. Maybe a bad batch went out.

That is odd. Mine even outlived the headlights. Smashed into an F350, messed up the headlights, but the bulbs kept on going.
Now installed in a pair of TRP Pro headlights.
Almost seems like yours are getting too much amperage maybe? I dunno, but it just seems odd. I had silverstars in my Ranger for over 7 years without issue. Sold the truck with them on it.

 

You should upgrade to LEDs Mine were only $75 and I have never had a single problem with them.

 

So on those Decked systems, can you slide the drawers all the way out and remove them without taking apart the whole system?
