I have a 2010 Tacoma 4X4 and was just quoted $1825.25 to replace the front hubs, wheel bearings and have an alignment done including labor. Do this sound right?

I've never changed my brakes. I may give it a try though.

The write up I saw seemed pretty extensive but that might be because I've never done anything like this before.

Dude... Google, Youtube and of course, TW are your friends.
You'll save a ton of money and at the very least if not then BUY TOOLS with the money you would otherwise spend in labor.
Plus you'll know the job is done right

Yes living in the Sunny Southwest is a big difference from the rust and broken hardware of the Winter Chemical area

Go to the regional area and see if there is a thread for the SoCal high desert. Post there to see:

    1. If there are less expensive but competent garages.
    2. If someone would help you. (It's not that difficult).

Agree with everyone else. Do it yourself or get a TW member to help you. That's a great job to do yourself and learn about your truck.

I just finished the 4WD conversion on my truck, I've never removed a transmission in my life. I just watched tons of videos and studied the FSM.

I was getting a front differential out of a 4Runner up in Oakland that spent some time in the salt belt judging how the dust shields were basically crumbling into swiss cheese. I bought the axle nut set from Harbor Freight for something like $30, a pitman puller, and got both steering knuckles out in less than an hour. Really not that bad to do.
