Lot of hate around here for anything that isn’t a truck on 5100s and SCS wheels.

Bro-doze on my friend. I miss my dozer.

It looks like they're way too narrow for the wheel. Whatever it is, it looks super lame.

But those tire ARE narrow (in relation to the rim). They're stretched over a wider rim, and it looks insanely stupid. I can't imagine it's very safe either.

So is this some new trend or something - the massive dub wheels on trucks with tires that are too narrow, being stretched wide? I've never seen this outside of this forum before.

Ok, but why not put properly fitting tires on?

Agreed. LT wins every time but it may not be the best for a new guy. You need a little "know how" to get it set up right and keep maintained properly. Not sure what's wrong with a good 3" lift and see what happens... Just sayin'.

Agreed. I would start with 3" lift and 35's. You're not offroading anyways so you can save time and materials having to cut so much. You might even get away with keeping your wheel well liners.

You can always move up from there.

I guess I just don't get the appeal then. It's dangerous, and looks silly. I mean, just with the look alone - why get chunky mudder tires if you're going to do a setup where the sidewalls aren't even on the "side" of the tire anymore (since there effectively are no sides of the tire anymore)? Like, the whole wheel/tire setup is just mind boggling to me.

Whatever, I'm gonna give it a rest now.

I think the style carried over from stanced imports. I had a stanced Miata with stretched tires. If the tires weren't stretched they would've been eaten by my fenders. I also did not have the most aggressive stretch though.

On trucks it has been around quite a while in FL anyway. My buddy has an F250 on 22x14s with 33x12.5s stretched to fit.

Not a huge fan of the look on trucks, but some look good. As far as safety goes I have quite a few friends with stretched tires on trucks and cars and non of them have had a tire come off or do anything out of the ordinary.
