6" lift, heavier trimming (not surgery) and CMC should clear 35's. No body lift needed. Shit, people manage 35's on a 3" lift.

If you want 37's, you will need to look into fiberglass fenders and bedsides. The wheel arches will barely handle a 35, as is.

I run 1" wheel spacers. I'm not doing over 80mph or jumping but I let get nasty when she wants. No issues in 4 months. Just make it a habit to pull the wheels and check lugs.

And don't listen to these people saying 6" DB lifts ride terrible. I've driven 2.5-3" lifted OME, toytech, fox 2.5" dsc, and icon stage 5. I prefer my 6" RCD DB lift on Bilstein 5100's over all those. The owners of those other lifts have driven my truck and love it. They just don't like the added height and "loss of ground clearance". I was the only one to NOT scrape frame on Hell's Revenge in Moab.

I don't think there's any loss of ground clearance, just no gain in ground clearance with a DB lift. That's why I want to do just a 1" body lift to clear the tires without raising the CG more. Also, it's already hard for my 5'2" wife to get into the truck as is lol.

Technically speaking, between the front wheels, the drop bracket hangs about 4" lower than stock. 3" lift without drop bracket vs my 6" db lift nets 1" lower cross member as she sits. But I do gain 3" on approach, high center and exit.

I'm just here for the pictures of a 6" + 3" body lift.

OP- do you wheel your truck? How have your 20s held up? Have you thought about getting smaller wheels for more sidewall? Slap some 37s on 16s and look like a monster truck lol

If your goal is 37" tires than a 2"+ long travel kit will clear on a 3" lift with proper back spacing and cmc. Plenty of people hardcore off road with that set up. Adding any body lift will NOT help you with clearing 37" since you would have to cut the entire body mount and relocate it back ~2" and probably tub the foot well. This process has been completed on 2nd gens on 3" lifts and 37" tires.

How does a long travel kit help 37s not rub on UCAs/fenders/cab mounts/etc. Doesn't it just get you more downtravel?

(Am noob, plz bear with me)

You shift your wheel turning radius out rather than increasing your wheel turning radius like with spacers. Fenders would have to be trimmed or glass would be needed and a CMC would most likely have to be done. Sorry I just assume everyone cuts fenders and CMC since its so easy. If people are willing to cut frame to install a drop bracket then trimming and CMC is nothing.

The long travel is only to clear the body mount if not it would require cutting the entire mount and relocating it back. Its the hardest thing to work around when moving to 37" tires.

There's a dude who works at marlincrawlers who fit and wheeled his 3rd gen with 37s; saw the fender and bumper were trimmed but didn't see him posting about moving the entire body mount back or tubbing the wheels.

Yeah I followed his build. That taco is crazy! But he is running All Pro 3"+ Long travel to push his turning radius out. So turn the wheel in your truck where the outside edge of the tire is closes to the body mount ~1/2 turn then measure out 3" then thats how much more clearance you have with long travel.

I was running 37in Cooper STT, doubt 40s could have been done without the rubbing most get with bigger tires and no lift.

Forgot to mention.. I did have an issue. Wasn't the lift it was the damn super swampers. Tore up both front wheel bearings, might have lost a filling or two.

It has crossed my mind to do 37s again on my 17 but 2 things have kept me away. The 3.5L and the wife.

No idea how the 3.5L with the current transmission coupled with a temperamental traction control would react with 37s.

    Miss the 4.0 setup!

So I just had my 35s installed. They had to trim quite a bit off the body mount as you can see. I still have a small issue of it rubbing, but it’s only on the fender flares. So my main point of this whole thread was to figure out how people run 37s and up. Also, how do they accomplish that. So, that’s why I was asking if it was possible to add body lifts or other options to my 6” kit. I was just curious, never said I was going to do it and probably never will. But thanks for all the info, and hope it helps someone else one day!E5B9006B-667F-4CC3-A125-20A4EAC029F6.jpg 6A035034-D865-40C2-9E3F-700EF44683F2.jpg 982E6A9B-ECC8-49F3-BE3B-395AF6647FDD.jpg

Looks good. For some reason, I really really like that color with a big lift. Maybe it's the way it looks with the wheels.

Thanks! I love the color as well. I've wanted this truck for over 10 years, and now I finally have it lol.
