With my work schedule, the truck sits in a parking lot for 3 weeks. After so long I assume the oil has drained out of the cylinders. Is there anything I can do to prep the truck and make that first start a little less severe?

Follow up question: I can possibly swing by and start it once a week for a few minutes. Would that be worse for the engine or is it possible the cylinders still have enough oil in them to justify starting it? Everyone likes pics so here is the truck

I find it comical how some max security facilities issue khaki to persons behind the fence.... i mean, look at that tacoma blend

Just use thicker oil like 10w-30 so there will still be a film on everything vs the watery 0w Toyota calls for that runs right off. The only reason they use oil that thin is for economy reasons, squeeze out that last .001mpg.

Your oil will still be in the pickup pump and passages so as soon as the engine starts to turn over pressure will be there.

In my honest opinion, you're over thinking this one. I wouldn't worry about it. ;)

That 0W20 also is flowing through all the oil passages much quicker that 10Wanything too.

If you really wanted to, pull the fuel pump relay and crank it for about 30-40 seconds before the initial start after 3 weeks of sitting.

Over thinking it is good news but I’ll run it by the dealer when I got in for my 5k next week. The high/low viscosity debate is an interesting one.

ugh no... thats the worst advice ever.

OP leave it be, start it when you can actually drive it and put a load on it to warm it up properly (dont let it sit and idle for long to "warm up")

Stick with the stock oil weight and you will be fine.
