I have a 2006 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner Sport, and I recently noticed a rattle coming from my exhaust on the passenger side, it’s coming from right at connection from the catalytic converter to the exhaust pipe going to the muffler.. I can put my pocket knife on it and it will stop the second I take it off it will rattle again. Anyone else have this problem? If so how do you fix it?

Is it actually the connection? Or is it the catalytic converter itself rattling? Apparently that's common as they come apart internally. Also at times the heat shield on the cat can rattle as well I believe.

Not sure, haven’t really had to chance to roll under the truck to check other then the one time, might be the springs on the connection or could be the converter itself...mystery’s to be solved... never ending

I had heat shield rattles. The shield wore right off the nut.A couple of fender washers later, and in 10 minutes it was gone.

Or, you can have a 5.56 casing stuck between the heat shield and the cat that's rattling. Ask me how I know.
