Howdy! I have wanted a taco since I was a kid. I like the early 1st gen the most. I have found one about two hours away that looks really good paint and body, interior wise. Its a 99 cab 4x4 6 cylinder with auto trans. Texas truck, no rust. My problem is the truck has 300k miles on it! It looks cleaner than most I have seen for sale with 200k on them. Owner does not speak english, so can't have much a conversation on whats been replaced or done mechanically with it. for 4500 is it worth it?? Thanks for the help, here is the post: https://austin.craigslist.org/cto/6442759049.html

    Reserected from the dead.
Looks like it was repainted. Not a deal killer.

There is still 100k+ miles to drive that. Start it up and take it for a ride. If no odd noise or smoke, the rest can be repaired pretty cheaply if you are willing to do some wrenching.

Thanks for the response! I was kind of thinking the same thing just looking for reinforcement. Figured if it runs good and looks good I should pull the trigger. How can you tell its been painted??

Just to be clear I would toss the wheels and tires and throw originals back on, Don't want anyone getting the wrong impression of me on here!
