Back on my old car I wet sanded, then buffed with Meguiar's Plastx. For UV protectant I ordered some Lamin-X film. Worked awesome and the film was essentially invisible. They hadn't yet faded a few years later when I sold the car.

I bought the Meguiars heavy duty restoration kit today. Worked well. Had the lotion type protectant in it.

Well supposedly the Opti-lens is a permanent coating....so either it isn’t or I had user error. Lol

If it's gonna fail, that seems like a logical spot for it to happen.

Yeah but haze came off too easy. Either I didn’t let it flash or I removed too much. I put it on heavy this time and lightly wiped it off.

With a product like that-- if you apply really heavy, like as heavy as you can without it running, will it then remain in a tacky state while it dries as opposed to "flashing"?

I could still see it flash. I made sure this time not to apply much pressure when leveling

This optic-lens coating is so amazing. I like this method of cleaning the headlight.

How easy is this product to put on? I’m trying to plan my spring detail and I want to treat all the lights around the truck with something.

I preferably would like a semi-permanent product that doesn’t have too much of a risk of staining my paint and something easy to evenly apply.

Super easy. It's pretty much wipe on wipe off. I've not used it, but that's my understanding. What say you, Ace?

Easy to apply. I was a bit apprehensive about coatings at first but it is easy to apply. Prep headlight follow directions on bottle, apply with supplied applicator and wait for the product to flash then wipe off. Easy peasy. About the same difficulty as a wax or sealant.

I have been using Dr. David Ghodoussi's products since he first released them in 2001. They are fantastic and last a long long time. Permanent is up for debate IMHO based on my experience. When I replaced my Tacoma's headlights before installing in late 2015 I coated them with opti-lens. I have not had to apply another coating since then, however every six months I do apply a coating of opti-seal to the entire vehicle including the plastics. This is done to help the durability of the base coat of Opti-coat pro that I applied back in 2014.

@ace96 - your headlights look great.
