Hey guys. Just wondering what size tire and wheel y'all would recommend from experience? Its the only thing from completing my build. I do not want a cmc. I have the bilstein 5100 front and rear with the ome 888 coils and the 3 hs aal, along with a 1" body lift. I've searched other threads and stuff so some genuine advice would be greatly appreciated. Prefer nitto trail grapplers or cooper discoverer stt pro. Thanks again.

Eh. I think the highest lowest I would go is 275s. With that said, what did people pay for a cmc? I'm in Richmond va and have no idea where to look to get it done.

Depends what you are going to do with it. Anything over 265 will rub without a CMC when flexing offroad regardless of lift. That being said if all you do is roll around on the street you can "fit" 285s no CMC. It may rub at full lock but it also may not. It's not a big deal really. Truck isn't going to blow up just because it's rubbing a bit but it can become a some what serious problem offroad.

I’m in Richmond. Just had mine done by an acquaintance who owns a local service station and is familiar with Toyota.

Btw, 275 is width, not height.

CMC is seriously no big deal.

    Get the plates from BAMF

    Chop, weld, paint, drink beer.

Run the size tires you want and be happy!

Your other option is to contact 4WD Specialty on W Broad St near Parham Rd as they do modifications like this frequently.

Would your acquaintance be interested in doing another one? I don't do a lot of offroading but I do plan on taking it on the beach. I love the look of the 275+ tires. Guess ill cave in do 285s with the cmc

I had 285/70/17 on mine with my icon lift set at 2.5” and had zero running issues. I did a cmc anyways just for flexing reasons.

You may not need the CMC. Install the wheels and/or tires first then evaluate the need.
    I'm sure he would.

I would imagine you could easily clear a true 33 with that kind of lift. I actually lowered mine down a little bit and still don’t rub anything.

I had an ome 2.5 or whatever it is and 285’s with some 4.5” bs wheels. I didn’t need a cmc even off road. Had to to trim some plastic but that’s it.

I'm just gonna do the 285/70/17 and deal with it then. In the other forums I've read people say that with at least 3" then 285/70/17 should work with no rubbing

I’m well under 3” of lift with no rub, it anything I would need to trim some plastic up front, not anywhere near the cab mount.

My 285's don't come anywhere close to rubbing the cab mount, just had to do some slight trimming.

This is good feedback guys. Enjoy hearing peoples different encounters and what works and what doesn't. What size rim do y'all have running the 285s?

dont forget wheel backspacing and offset also effect whether you rub as well.
