I don’t believe you even need them because your year truck does not have the emissions air injection pump.

Still keeping an eye on this thread.

2012 with 64K and have not had these codes come up. (Yet)

Bought truck with 44K. Coulda been done before I bought it I suppose, but no issues to report at this time.

I do a lot of highway driving. I would say at least 75% of my driving time is highway. Another 10% is probably State Routes and stuff, 50/55 mph.

I thought this was isolated to the 2012, but now I see from reading this that some 2013 have had problems too. I chimed in to keep track of the situation. My 2013 now has 77,000 miles on it. As some have stated on here Toyota should have taken control of this and covered the parts and labor for everyone. They should have a different emissions Warranty like big over the road tractor trucks do. just my .02

On 2012s the emissions system doesn’t run on shut down which is the main reason these valves fail. 13-15s do. Because of that, valves on a 2012 will fail every 30-60k like clock work. On 13-15 trucks it seams like 25% of them fail in that same time period. Now that it is a $200 part and a 45 min fix, it is not that big a deal.

    Too few to list.
Yep, 4 cyl had them for a while. I believe the valves for the 4 and 6 cylinders are the same size so the Tundra valve should fit. I think I might have seen someone post about using it on their 4 cyl already.

Like I said earlier in this thread, anyone experiencing issues should file a complaint with the NHTSA.

Not the appropriate agency; it is not a safety issue.
    It's an emissions warranty issue.
Read the PDF I linked above your post.
Toyota can be dinged for up to $37,500 for each offence...

It's definitely a safety issue. When my truck went into limp mode, I could not get out of everybody's way fast enough.

    Get both...
    Did Toyota fix yours?

I think your complaint is more to do with limp mode strategy, rather than whether or not the emission parts are warrantied. In your case, yes, NHSTA is the appropriate agency.

I believe we are both correct. 4cyl had them for a while....6cyl 4.0 engine had them starting in 12

Yep, they fixed it. Mine was a 2015 with 7K miles. It was pump failure though and not valves.

It happened today just shy of 35K, I got P2443 stuck closed. My truck is not in limp mode yet. does anyone know with a secondary valve stuck closed, how long can you drive like this and does it change to stuck open then limp mode?

The valve will get stuck and mess up the warm up cycle, putting it in limp mode. You can get around by disconnecting the battery forn10-15 min to reset the computer AFTER the truck has warmed up in limp mode. After that, turn the truck off, reconnect the battery and you should be good until the engine cools off again.

Just announced today Toyota is offering a Customer Support Program (CSP) for the 2012 Tacoma Air Injection Pumps and/or Air Switching Valve. This is basically a warranty extension. Unlimited to Feb 28, 2019 then 10 years/150,000-miles.
