    Is your 24-70mm f2.8 the new one or old one......if the new one, does it auto-focus with D7000? Mine doesnt and I am going to sell the lens or have to buy new/used D750

    I am not sure if it is "new" or "old". I bought it three or so years ago. It is a heavy all metal lens. It does autofocus with my D7000 and the other bodies as well.

    Edit: It says "AF-S Nikkor 24-70mm 1:2.8G ED" on the lens itself.

    thats the DX lens as denoted by the "G"...old lens without image stabilization.....the new one is for the "FX" format and had image stabilization.....I got this new lens from by brother in-law....hate to give it up..i would sell r trade for new D750 or D810 and cash.....My D7000 is in excellent condition with low shutter count..I just need to decide on giving up lens or upgrading body and using my 18-200mm zoom with new body....anybody out there want to trade?

    DX is a cropped sensor. This lens was built go along with the other two highend f2.8 lenses (14-24mm and 70-200mm). I am fairly sure it was designed for full frame FX. I can't see someone paying this much money to use it for a cropped DX sensor. Either way, it has been a great lens. My overall favorite is the 70-200mm f2.8.

    Agreed but new lens has IS.....my brother in-law only knew I had a Nikon camera and does not know anything else......the "G" is metal and the "E" is mostly plastic but very heavy......still gonna get rid of it and get either D750 or D810

    Sigma 17-50 2.8 is a great lens on a crop body like the D3300. It is fast 2.8 throughout the range and blows the kit lens away in sharpness. Look at the reviews. It's also really compact - just a bit bigger than the kit lens but does not have the reach of the super zoom described above.
