Lights in Turn Signal

I am looking to retrofit my lights. It seems like people just leave the turning signal unused and usually blacked out. Has anyone put LED lights in there for extra lighting? Like a small light bar or something? It seems like a waste to not use that space.

 

Headlights or taillights? Who's leaving out the turn signal?? I think you are mistaken as most seem to do some sort of LED conversion to them.

 

Headlights.
I would like to use the halos as turn signals. I would go with Amber double halos. Kinda like the picture.
But I think it would be interesting to put some kind of light in the turn signal.
