Thanks for posting! I had no idea you guys existed. My 2009 still has the OEM bulbs that came with the truck when I drove it off the dealer lot for the first time! I've been thinking about improving the light output lately because my light output is pretty terrible at this point. The H4 LED kit looks pretty good! Price is right too! How long does it take to get one of those kits in hand?

Shipping speed depends on where you are located, but LED Kits going to the lower 48 States ship by Air these days and that is typically 1-3 business days, depending on how far you are from us in Ontario, Canada.

Do you guys ever feel guilty for selling a product that you know damn well should not be used for the purposes you're selling it for? HIDs in the factory halogen housings result in lower light output and are annoying (and borderline dangerous) to everyone around you.

Anything to make a buck though, huh?

I understand your concern which is why we try to educate our customers about lighting and recommend the ones that would work for their needs and their vehicle. An HID kit is perfectly safe to install in a halogen projector headlight. Here is a great review that compares halogen, HID and LED in a halogen projector housing:

    http://www.xenondepot.com/highlander-led-headlight-kit-review-s/52.htm

As you can see, the light cut off is kept with an even light spread.

Glad i wasnt the only one thinking this. All these drop in kits that blind the rest of the drivers on the road....

FYI, NOT A SINGLE 2nd gen tacoma came with projector lights, so please anyone with a 2nd gen tacoma, DO NOT BUY THIS SHIT.

Great point regarding vehicles that don't come with a projector headlight, in these cases we recommend going with a LED upgrade kit like the H4 Xtreme LED Pro Kit or the H4 Philips X-Treme Ultion LED kit which do a great job of keeping the headlights light pattern without any glare or scatter. If a LED bulb is not designed properly then yes it can produce unwanted glare and uneven light spread.

Here is a great example of them installed in a 2005 Toyota Tacoma with H4 headlights:

ugh again no. LED's still scatter much more than a proper bulb in a standard housing, and the fact that LED's are usually rather high on the K scale making a blue white light which actually is MUUUUCH harsher on your eyes and others at night is no bueno.

People if you want to upgrade your stock headlights PROPERLY follow @crashnburn80 's https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-ultimate-headlight-upgrade-not-led-or-hid.398066/

These people are just here promoting and providing a product. No need to try to bad mouth them and be disrespectful. If you don't want LED/HID's then don't buy them.. Plenty of people want them, or else they wouldn't be selling them everywhere. I agree that there are a lot of people who throw cheap HID's in there crappy cars and it looks like crap and sometime I find myself blinded by the light ect. I'm not disagreeing with that. Do you make bulbs and study the technology, or run scientific test on light emissions for a living? I don't know crap about lights and I don't have either HID or LED, but I just cant believe the rudeness. Things improve, and technology changes, maybe they have developed a way to improve the use LED/HID in halogen headlamp housing (seeing as it is such a popular thing to do). These companies like Phillips probably spend millions developing these lights every year. We can land on the moon I am sure we can make a bulb that doesn't "scatter everywhere and blind people"... May or may not be the case here but Geezz.. Did you even bother to look at the comparison photos before jumping to your preconceived notions? I guess technology never changes or improves right?

A few mods here and there and counting....
I read the review and the overall bulb construction was pretty impressive. Probably explains why they're pricer than your average run of mill LED kit on Amazon. None the less, I would be interested in seeing it in another Tacoma(05-11 & 12-15) other than the one from the review to see the cut off. I have retrofits so its just out of curiosity and it'll be benefit other members who are interested.

Danny I don't know much about the LED's and I get blinded a lot by people that are running them but yes they have their place.

I do know you responded with professionalism to a few negative post and to that I applaud you. Rick

Yes, they can. By putting the bulb in a housing that was designed for that bulb. Halogen, HID, and LED lights all emit light in totally different ways, so they each require a specifically designed lens and reflector to properly focus that light. This company (like many others) peddles improper solutions. You can't make an LED or HID bulb that works in halogen housings because they are apples to oranges.

Do it right (proper bixenon projector retrofit), or please don't do it at all.
