3rd Gen. Gas Mileage Sweet Spot!

We have similar miles on our trucks
Hope mine gets similar mileage at that speed.

edit: Although, the Tank Average fuel economy would be more acceptable to some if your fuel guage was reading less than 7/8!

 

The real problem is unless you are running on perfectly level ground without a headwind, there’s no chance you stay in that gear, and therefore at that RPM.

 

Tire pressure also have a great impact on fuel economy

 

Nice! I average between 20-21 MPG during my 24 mile commute to work.
Mixed Highway and in town driving.

Had to do a couple jobs today in the Palisades took the coast to the 10. It just keeps getting better, just past the 1200 mark on my od the rings seated really nice.

 

Shit, just realized why I get 15mpg. The gearing on my 6mt is much lower putting my rpms around 2500 compared to your 1800. May explain why I get crap mileage on hwy. When I had my 17 I got 21mpg daily where now my 18 gets 15mpg. Oh well

 

I never got high on my stock tires. Around 18 average. With my new tires it's 15 and it sucks.

 

My drive into work I'll be right at 19.5-20 mpg. My drive home late at night is always better.

I just fueled up last night in Los Angeles and I’m lucky to get 300 miles on a tank of gas!

 

I run my stock OR tires at 30 psi cold. Is anyone doing higher and getting MPG gains? Sticker in the door recommends 30.

 

Only one to figure fuel mileage accurately. Miles divided gallons.

 

I agree but, if and only if you use the same pump and it shuts off at the same pressure each fill-up. Depending where I fill-up, I can usually squeeze another gallon in once the handle shuts off.

 

Interesting, my stock '17 Limited with LTX2 calls for 28 PSI cold.

 

Yea, whatever you do in that regard, don't ever mention using Nitrogen in your tires on this site. The trolls that screw up any positive postings will jump all over whatever you say.

 

I wasn't too far off of that number during the entire trip from North Carolina to Florida and of course, that was the best I got. I posted it knowing the trolls and their sister's, Debbie Downer and Negative Nancy that piss on everything on this site would jump all over it.

 

Why is everything so expensive in California? I thought Oregon’s gas was expensive.

 

Because California is a Single Party State at every level of government. Tax and spend is all they know how to do!
