Deliberating what I want to do.....considering pods for the lower valance now. :D 2".
I do want the puddle lights in the door, but now thinking the mirrors may be a good place too. Why not both? :anonymous:
Then.....the aux fuse block. That has to be soon.

If you want both, we should do them at the same time.

The same shit everyone else has.
I have puddle lights in my mirrors and LED strips along the bottom of each door.

Mirror lights are nice for when the doors are closed. They light up the outside of the door/ground. The under door panel lights are nice because they light up between the door and body when the doors open. This is nice for hunting/fishing/camping/dropping stuff out the cab in the dark. Both are tied into the lock/unlock on the dome light.

Do you have a write up on that? Thinking about the same thing, but wondering how hard it would be.

No write up. I used to do em but Im lazy and dont document what I do anymore. More interested in just doing mods for myself...

Tap into the dome light circuit, this will give you your lock/unlock lights on/off function with the keyfob and with the door opened/closed. Run your wiring. I used stick on LED strips from Amazon for under the door panels. Stick the strips again the rubber seal on the panel and itll be hidden.

For the mirrors, theres a few DIYs on how to heat them. Follow on of these to disassemble the mirrors. Drill your hole in the bottom of the mirror close to the base and add your light, run your wiring through the mirror, through the door, then to the dome light circuit.

200 bucks or so for all the materials but it’s given me years of gear storage while on the road, and a dry place to crash for the night

Cheap ass redneck mod #2 complete!! A buddy of mine sold me his old wilco tire gate for 50$!! Unfortunately it belonged to a 2014 chevy 1500. I had to chop 8" off the center in order for it to fit. Couple of welds, hand made mounting bracket, and a lot of drilling, and voila!!IMG_0860.jpg

Awesome, thanks. Do you know what size hardware fits? I think it said 5/16th earlier in the thread. Is that right?

WOW...after 1 week and all 124 pages I have learned more about bed liners, adding lights and freaking tie downs than I ever though I would. Thank you for a tremendous thread. There are some incredibly talented people in this forum. Thanks again for all of the great ideas.

P.S. If I see Shaggy eat one more burger, I'm going to lose my mind. hahaha
