Factory for now...I have a OGE dual system, just never installed [haven't bought 2 batteries yet, haha]

I am trying to see if I will need another fused line from the battery otherwise I was planning on reusing the 100A that came with the switch pro and run the stubby cables from that to the blue-sea. I don't forsee my total current to be over 100A -- the winch will be on it's own system.

It's tight but the Switch Pro cable will fit From the OEM battery positive terminal to the switch pro on the PowerTray.
So all you'll need is the stubby cables plus a 1 foot ground cable

You da bomb. I'll probably be making an order sometime soon then.

@Hextall that SDHQ mount is yours if you want. It only mounts the switch-pro, no bus bar. It's nice and clean though.

Any reason for me to order a different/additional fuse/circuit breaker for that setup? I don't think there is but I want to get all the stuff in a single order.

No, not for the factory battery area.

Once you have the auxiliary battery in the passenger side, We can get you upgraded from the single MRBF holder to a dual MRBF holder.

Accutally, If you're trying to order everything in one shot you could order a 5 foot positive 4AWG cable and a dual MRBF holder with one additional 100A fuse. That way you would be ready to go when you install the OGE dual battery system.

What would I need the positive cable and fuse holder for? The OGE system should have everything needed for the batteries, right?

The Off-Grid Engineering dual battery system has everything needed for the battery system… Any ancillary accessories wanted to be added, like the switch bro, will need their own cables.

Thanks, I appreciate that, but I think I'd like the option of mounting bus bars. That's very generous.

I'm still rolling around in my head about the fuse box. I do have the bed lights kit installed that gets sold here by Matt G(?), and it's wired to my battery with a provided inline fuse. I'm planning on doing the front/rear anytime camera mod too, and am debating whether to wire that somehow to the switchpro. but if I don't, then I'd like to wire it via a fusebox like I've read others doing. I'm such an indecisive ninny. ha.

Great product, great customer service. Couldn't be happier.

I mounted and wired everything on the panel then installed the panel in the truck. I'm not sure how anyone else is getting the bolts under the tray but I ended up using a flexible 90° driver.

Great question. So far I only have two planned. One to the cab for constant hot USB. One to the bed for a Blue Sea Panel with 12v and USB.

I received my power tray last week painted it up and put the fuse box, the terminal block and the buss bar on it yesterday.

Got a call that my switch pro 9100 is ready and it'll ship Monday (switch pro charges shipping, there are other options with free shipping... D'oh).

Now i am a little worried... Is the 8100 and 9100 switch pros the same footprint? Has it been confirmed the holes drilled in the powertray will work with the 9100?

For the SPod bracket can it work on the older generation ones? Or only for the SE model? Or am I better off just ordering the universal one?

So starting to get all my stufffor my install and have a question about if you guys who used a SwitchPro. Did you add a MRBF with 100a fuse from the positive terminal to connect to the SwitchPro?

I guess I’m a little confused about what this exactly does and if it’s necessary. Anyone shed some light on this for me?

The 9100 has the same footprint as the 8100 according to their website, And the photos appear to have the hole In the same place.
I wouldn't worry but if for some reason it doesn't work, I'll design a new tray ASAP and get you swapped out

The main reason we run circuit breakers/ fuses is because if a positive battery cable is accidentally grounded, the rapid discharge of energy may/will cause a fire. Also it prevents the load from either drawing more current than it, or the cable, can handle. But most of us are aware of our energy consumption and properly fuse our accessories so the protection is more for the cable that gives power to the Switch Pro, than the Switch Pro itself.

The most common cause of grounding a positive wire is usually user error... However, more serious cases happen all the time. We definitely put our trucks through their paces, and as a result the high vibration/abrasion battery cables are subject to can easily wear through the protective coatings on the cable over time. Worse yet, in the event of an accident a cable can get pinched and start a fire that way too.

Circuit breakers are great for the user error scenario, because it only happens for a second and we can just reset it. But it's important that your circuit breaker be placed as close to the source (battery) as possible, otherwise you're leaving a stretch of the cable unprotected.

I always recommend fusing your power cable directly at the source with a Marine Rated Battery Fuse. It's the best way to guarantee your safety because 100% of the cable will be protected if anything were to happen. Also it mounts directly on the battery terminal, so there's no need to have a separate mounting space allocated for it.

But it is just a recommendation and not a requirement. I know plenty of people that just run a straight positive cable from the battery to the Switch Pro and that's up to you.
