Interested to see how much lift you get out of the 884s

I will be going that route before too long

 

We will see I hear 885s are a bit much for regular cabs so I’m going with these and I really am looking forward to get the poly spacers out!

 

Should be a really nice upgrade!

 

Got another TRS OR rim off Craigslist today. Gonna make a matching spare.

Removed the poly spacer lift and installed OME 884s on Bilstein 5100.

Here’s the old lift


Used the compressorless method alone, was not too sketchy. Marked the alignment cam tabs, loosened same. Took off the two ball joint bolts, and the shock top nut. Top hats needed to be removed to get the spacer kit extenders off.

I reused the old top hats, they didn’t have much wear. Took more time to install taking the spacer kit off.


Drivers side all buttoned up with thread locker and I torqued everything to spec. I did good today and didn’t cross thread anything!!!

I didn’t measure lift, before or after. But I think maybe it added 3/16” to 1/2” an inch. At the alignment shop now. Rides much, much better. Can’t believe I waited this long to do this.

I did it solo too, took about 4 hours. Took a few breaks too as I cleaned, primed and painted the sliders

 

Not too bad at all!! I'm very proud to say the least!

When's the slider install going down?

 

Cleaned the sliders today with acetone while installing the front lift and spray painted Rustoleum self etching primer and semi gloss black enamel. I used two cans of primer and two cans of black enamel. To be bolted on tomorrow.
