Thanks for the info. Trading this truck in 6 months so not sure if I'll swap it out. I'm not that handy and I'd hate to get started and then hate myself for not just letting the dealer do it. It doesn't seem all that bad of a job but I'm not that advanced when it comes to this stuff. Basic oil changes and about the most advanced thing I did was replace my engine spark plugs. I was scared to death but got it done haha.

Had this exact thing happen on my 13. Had to reverse drill-bit it out. Replaced with a much shorter antenna that gets removed before every car wash

Luckily I got the car wash to pay for the replacement, but they had no obligation to do so

Feeling pretty stupid...our antenna broke after going through a drive through car wash. 2009 Tacoma has that antenna nut, chrome bezel, with 4 notches that I need to remove. Anyone know the correct part number for the antenna nut/bezel wrench with the four notches? Thanks.

    Hi Chris (moondeath),

Thank you for your prompt response.
I was about to order that wrench on Amazon but a search revealed this wrench won't fit our 09' Tacoma.
Anyone else know the correct part number for the antenna bezel nut wrench?...that will fit our 09' Tacoma.
    Thanks again.

that it does... theres a reason why toyota gives you an antenna remover with the truck haha. I never go through those nasty carwashes for reasons like this.... i like my paint and weather stripping.

A guy on the 4Runner forum - t4r.org - had his entire roof rack ripped off by one of these automated car washes. It's a gamble driving thru one of these things. I use the do-it-yourself hand-held car wash place.
