Yeah I wish it was the manual shift! Make life easy... I’m sure this cold weather and the foot of snow we just got here in Kentucky doesn’t help

Sounds like someone needs to use 4lo more often if you can never remember how to engage it :boink:

Or you could look at the card on the visor.....

Or just come to a complete stop and put it in neutral. Locker can only be engaged in 4lo.

This seems to be a similar problem that I had recently, the vent line of the front actuator blew up from the cold and resulted in a water getting into it. Got it replaced by the local dealer under warranty. Good luck with it!

Doubt it, but part wise it's a $300-400 CAD part here, not sure what are local prices in your area and it took the dealership around 3-5 hours to fix it, I dropped it at 8am and picked it up at 1pm few days back.

Having something very similar with my '17 Taco. 4HI light blinks (should be solid green) and does not allow me to switch into 4Lo or 2Hi. But not really sure if it's in 4Hi or 2Hi at this point haha UGH!

defiantly front diff actuator, it's covered under Yota warranty up to 100K, so just book an appointment and they will fix it for you. Just don't mention that you off-road :)

Good luck with that! There are none left if you shop for a new vehicle, all manufactures are now producing electronic shifters. My 2015 had this problem, and the only solution would be to replace it with FJ T-case which one of my local buddies will be doing to his 07 truck this summer I think.

There are kits for some trucks to convert to a lever or cable - had a '94 Ram 2500 that I converted after constantly struggling to put into 4X4 mode. My son's 2011 Silverado 2500 W/T has a manual lever on the floor... Never a problem on that truck!
