Long but figured since I was new here I'd entertain some folks with the story of how I got my Tacoma... Enjoy:

So a few months ago I wake up around 4am to my hound losing his mind. Those of you with hounds know that bark can wake a neighborhood. Normally if someone walks by the house or he trees a squirrel we get 3-5 good barks but this was intense, enough to wake up both my wife and I. So I open the window and yell at him to shut up thinking he just hit the jackpot or something, a possum, raccoon, gang of squirrels, I don't know. But I go back to bed..

About 30 min later I wake up to banging on my door and a flashlight being blasted through my bedroom window. I look out to see a cop in the driveway. At this point both dogs are going nuts. The other is a mastiff, so also not the quietest of barks. I walk downstairs 100% sure the neighbors called the cops our 300 pound of dog losing their minds. I'm fully prepared to apologize and promise to lock them in for the night but there was no need. The cop asks me if I own an '04 Jeep, I say yes and look over to where it was parked. It's gone. He informs me that it's been involved in an accident and I need to go with him.

I'm in shock, still half asleep, confused, but whatever. I'm thinking it probably got taken on a joyride through OKC and crashed into a ditch and abandoned. He's having me fill out a report saying when I saw it last, that I didn't give anyone permission to take it, etc... but I realize that he's taking me to the University of Oklahoma campus. Only a few blocks from my house and there's my Jeep, smashed to bits looking like a balled up piece of paper. We pull up and I get the story..

This chick stole my car out of my driveway at 4am, doesn't turn my lights on, and nearly rams a cop at a stop light. When he tried to pull her over she floors it, turning onto campus not knowing it was a dead end street, flies by the student union going 50mph, barrels through trees, benches, and fountains, before finally smashing my Jeep through a classroom building. Cop said he was fully prepared to roll up on a critically injured driver after the impact but this chick popped out the second she hit the building and takes off on foot toward the football stadium. He chases her, tazes her, she doesn't go down. He said one barb went in her skirt, the other caught an ass cheek, but she kept going. Another cop is running towards them from the stadium and tazes her. This one got her good and she goes down... but when he reaches her she busts his lip with a right hook and it takes three to cuff her and haul her off. I later find out she was a minor! A child did this! Just graduated High School. From pics she looks completely normal! Moral of the story, listen to your dogs instead of yelling at them to shut up.

A massive down payment from the insurance check was more than double what I could've got for that busted up Jeep and a brand new 4x4 Tacoma eases the pain of losing a trusty ride. I made the news a few days later. Some good pics in the link below. Hope this is my initiation as a new member. Totally understandable if I still need to be jumped in.
