    Hi everyone!

I've been a life long sports and European car guy. Only owned one truck previously in my life, a 2000 Silverado for three years. I've always loved my Pontiacs. I had a Grand Prix that I souped up, currently own a 2006 GTO that I've had for 9 years. And up until two weeks ago my daily driver was a twin turbo Audi A6 Quattro with manual transmission.

I really needed a truck for work, but living in Phoenix I didn't want a full size truck. I hate Rangers, Colorados are hard to find in the right spec, forget the Dakota. So I have been looking at Tacomas. There are a ton of 95-04 available around here with over 200K. I tested drove a couple and like them. I wasn't afraid of the miles at all because I know Toyotas live forever. But none of them had everything I wanted. Either they were automatic or things were broken or missing, or they didn't have options I wanted. But that all changed two Fridays back.

I found a white 2009 Tacoma Prerunner TRD Off Road with the 1GR-FE and a 6 speed. I loved it before I drove it. Then I took it for a spin. Two hours later I owned it. Picked it up for $14,500 with 94K miles and some tasteful mods by the previous owner. He put HID headlights on, the installed rear air bags, a decent Pioneer touchscreen stereo, a sub with built in amp between the back seats, a set of Dick Cepek wheels, a FlowMaster muffler, and a K&N air intake.

I drive it every day for work and absolutely love it. 4 days after I got it, work unexpectedly called me to drive up into the hills northwest of Phoenix to repair some fiber optic cable, and I got my first off road experience which was amazing. Truck handled slippery, muddy tracks with no problem at all, I didn't even need to lock the diff! I can't wait to drive it again and I'm looking forward to spending more time off road.

In the near future I'd like to find a way to lock/unlock the tailgate with the keyless entry, turn the power inverter on while the key is in accessory, get the fog lights to turn on in parking light mode, and switch the rest of the rear bulbs to LED. I uploaded a couple photos of day in the hills. Love this truck!20180110_094211.jpg 20180110_135132.jpg 20180110_134800.jpg20180110_082717.jpg
