How are you able to use OVTune on a Mac book pro? I thought it was only compatible with a Pc.

If you look closely, he's running Windows. It's possible to do that with the fancy Intel processor Macs via split partitions and dual booting. And a purchased copy of windows is required also.

Thank you for pointing that out. I don’t use windows, so will probably need to do the same.

Yes.. but unless some ppl are actually keeping their mouths shut (on TW? Yeah right), there haven't been any 1.03B M/T testers yet. We may have to wait for another set of dyno runs, not sure.

Meh, it'll pick up again once Mat is back on the ground.

Boot camp. I run both windows and macOS on my laptop. It is pretty convenient for times when I need something that is only offered on windows.

Got an updated tune file from Matt a few days ago and I am still seeing misfires in between 3 and 4k at 40-60% throttle. Under normal city driving, and even WOT its totally fine but not at moderate loads. I've asked Matt if I can get the stock tune with just the throttle mapping changes, hopefully its possible since thats really my biggest complaint with the truck.

    Normal driving:

Are you testing 1.03 or 1.03B?

    Thanks for tracking this.

It also looks like the throttle plate position is much more closed while coasting (much less than 17%) on this tune. Does it feel any different?

Along that line, I was following an MT WRX this morning. Twice approaching stop signs from 35mph in normal driving, my Taco slowed faster while downshifting compared to the WRX. I am not 100% sure that they were not feathering the accelerator, but we were both dropping through the gears. In 2nd, I was slowing much faster and opening up the gap almost to idle.

Maybe the weak engine braking is just in my head?

Another file you may want to ask him for is 1.01B M/T. I don't recall having hesitations/misfires with that one. It was released at a point before Mat starting making changes to intake VVT etc IIRC.
Now that I think about it, 1.01B might be exactly what you're looking for.

I think I am out. This seems to be a never ending shit show of misfires and limp modes. Especially since I have 04b10. I had high hopes but I do not think it's worth the hassle at this point.

I mean we all got in before the Alpha release what did you expect? This is nothing new to the tuning world, every vehicle goes through a development stage. It just takes time, comparatively speaking Matt is kicking ass and taking names IMO, it took 10 years for the second gen tacoma to have decent tuning support

if i were you with 04b10 I'd probably feel the same. keep your eye on it though... never know if a code base upgrade becomes possible, or something similar.
