getting a growl hum vibration when slowing down and only slight bit when speeding up around 5-30mph goes away in 4Hi... its got 2000 miles on can this seriously be a problem already? Its a 2017 trd sport with 3” leveling kit and 31.5s

That's what it is mine started doing at about 1,000 miles after I lifted it. There is a Toyota TSB for it

Mine started pretty soon after I lifted it, maybe 100 miles in. Thats definitely your problem being that you are lifted.

It's not that it's necessarily bad already. If you would have never lifted it, it would probably never vibrate. The problem was just brought to light when you lifted it. That's generally how it goes with the needle bearing. ECGS makes a replacement to get rid of it.

Walk around a lot wiggling new front drivers side axles. They all broken. Just a matter of how severe and how much you accentuated the issue

Mine did under 2k miles. Printed out old tab and they replaced it for me. Check out ECGS bushing as well.

Here's your problem lol. Seriously I wouldnt bother with a TSB from toyota, get the ECGS and never have to worry about it again. Traveled to ECGS shop in Raleigh to install only costs 150.00.

    Good luck

The tsb bearing is literally the same part just a c.h. longer. Nowhere near good enough to support the axle.
    2017-04-04-14-51-40-1207651030.jpg

Now the concerning part atleast imo, is the wear that axle wobbling in the carier bearing causes. I did mine at 7000 miles i think. Had i waited longer id likely need to replace axle also. Notice the shiny spots? Yeah thats wear. Well one isnt, thats where the axle seal rides. But the 2 closer to the end of the axle is no bueno
    20161112_130441.jpg
Over 20k miles later and the axle tolerance is tighter than any non ecgs bushing ive felt. That includes brand new trucks and trucks that just left shop with tsb bearing.

Just replace the needle bearing with ECGS bushing. I replaced mine prior to lifting the truck, no issues

Lifted mine this last weekend and installed the ECGS bushing at the same time, I wanted it all done at the same time.

3 hour drive wasn't to bad. They quoted me 160ish for parts and labor at first but the seal/gasket didn't have to be replaced because the truck only had 5k miles on it. Very professional guys down there.

I'm having the same problem, Just hit 3000 miles, and the hum hum noise and vibration is happening at speeds up to 41 mph. I took it back to the dealer, because the TRD OF was lifted at the factory, all the dealership did was rotate my tires and tell me the humming vibration is caused by my tires being cupped. I explained to them the bearing needed replaced and they then told me the bearings were all good. I guess I'll have to find someone to fix the problem and pay for it since my dealer is a POS!

I’ve read that some people’s goes bad immediately after installing the lift. I’ve had my lift for about 3000 miles and so far so good, but we will see how it progresses down the road.

I do my own work. Warranty or not! I simply cannot trust any mechanic in my area. The needle bearing on my 2015 was an inexpensive, easy fix. Shouldn't be much different for a 3rd gen.

Mine was bad at 2,000 miles. Had it fixed recently while regearing. He showed me the damage. Good thing I replaced it when I did.

I replaced my needle bearing the other day with the ECGS bushing. Holy moly what a difference that made. I highly recommend doing it
