I think it was the second biggest requirement to get hired, first priority being "can they fog a mirror". The main guy at the range is an old lifeguard, so he's pretty laid back. The rest are a bunch of wannabe's carrying tricked out Kimbers in Uncle Mike's nylon or Fobus holsters. The help they offer to new shooters is almost as cringe-worthy as you would hear at a gun store counter. In their minds, a perfect isosceles stance is the only way a handgun should ever be fired, and you must blade your body and chicken wing your elbow to hire any long gun. They about lost their shit the first time I pulled out my SBR'd AK...

God forbid you ever have to improvise.

My motto is simple train for everything, since once the defecation hits the rotating oscillator, you only get to make a single decision...............................
are you going to fight back or be a victim.......................

you do not get to choose:
    the time
    place
how many of them there are
    are you standing
    sitting
    knocked down
trying to get your family to safety

I have two older brothers who taught me a life lesson very early

Fighting fair WILL get you hurt!

All the close ranges by me are public, but the range officers are cool guys. Can at least do some target practice and try out a new toy, but it gets super boring real fast.

I've met some cool people there. It's pretty hard were I live to find people that like to shoot firearms other than deer rifles and shotguns.

I agree. Static shooting doesn’t really do it for me anymore.

For you AR9 guys. I found a pretty good deal on a mag pouch if you're looking for one.

    eBay $25 shipped
    . Holds 8 stick mags. 2 left.

Avoid carbine length gas AR308 barrels. Absurdly overgassed.

but wouldn't an adjustable gas block fix that quite easy i mean the price allows for alot of play!

i figured for 299-399 range for the 18" i can live with that it wont be no competition but for piggies up to 200 yards max should be quite sufficient plus easier to maneuver in the blind

Yeah, but adjustable gas blocks are expensive and add complexity and also just more crap to break. i've got one on a 308 that has locked up and can't be adjusted anymore. Rifle only cycles with the suppressor on now.... Another good 308 AR item is a JP ent. enhanced extractor.
